Since the start of the full-scale invasion in February 2022, Ukrainian schools have been significantly damaged and destroyed, affecting the education of millions of children. Reports from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine indicate that approximately 4,000 educational facilities have been damaged or destroyed. This includes both direct attacks on schools and the impact of broader conflict, such as the destruction of buildings due to shelling and the disruption of services.
2.5 Million Students Displaced
- Over 2.5 million children have been internally displaced within Ukraine, with many more displaced across the country.
- The war has caused one of the fastest large-scale displacements of children since World War II.
